bobbi brown convert!
gosh, today's the last day of freedom... from tomorrow onwards, i'll be joining the rat race =( Well, on the brighter side, at least i'll be going to Penang for a 'holiday' somehow. Juz hope it's gonna be relaxing and not too strenuous - my brain can't take it after being on slack mode for so long.. But anyhow, to get my mind off such unhappy things, I'm gonna bl0g what took place last evening! heehee.. thinking about it just brings a wide grin to my face.. hahahaha!!!
My really nice and sweet cousin signed me up for this Bobbi Brown Chocoholics Workshop as a birthday present. Well, coz it was kinda a late decision, we couldn't get places for 2 on the days that we were available so we decided to split up. My session was the one yesterday. I wasn't really keen on going initially coz 1) I woke up with a darn locked jaw and 2) I'll be alone and it's gonna be weird coz not many people go for such makeup workshops alone. But I went anyway coz this workshop costs a good $150.
Yup, so I got there on time.. hee.. learnt my lesson after being late for the one that I went with Geri and Qiu (remember the Jill Lowe/Estee Lauder one??). It was held at the atrium of Centrepoint. Initially I thought it was really weird coz that's such an open space so how can a workshop possibly be held there? But I was so wrong. They kinda closed up the workshop area with nice wooden blinds so it's not that open afterall. The ambience was really good - think nice warm lightings, comfy seats, beauty mirror and brushes for each lady coming for the workshop etc. Best of all, once I got myself registered and seated, I was served with Bakerzin's chocolate passieres and a nice chocolate mint drink! How awesome is that??? hahahaha... Oh, before I forget, I would say that there are actually perks for going alone. For one, I was able to get a good seat right in front! =P
So the whole workshop was a really hands-on thing. Step by step guide on how to apply makeup. There were also makeup artists around to help with the colours that suit your skin tone. And I FINALLY found the perfect foundation tone for my skin!! Thanks to Jac, the sales and education manager, who helped me alot! =)))) Pretty useful for someone like me who's gonna start working and need to put on all these makeup. I also got selected to be the model for eye makeup (that means I got to go up the stage and offer my face as the 'white paper' for the pro to doodle on)!! hahahahaha...
The entire workshop took about 2 1/2 hours to finish. So after it was done, I decided to use the $150 voucher (which was in the goody bag - so actually the $150 paid previously was fully redeemable!) to redeem Bobbi Brown products on the spot coz according to the makeup artist who was helping me, she said that a lot of limited edition items were closed to being sold out. Then I got tempted. I was enticed by the nice palette that would come free with every purchase of $300, that would mean that I'll have to top up $150 on top of the voucher. But thankfully, my senses got the better of me. Well, I did top up to $200 eventually to get this nice bag of goodies but at least the damage was only $50 and not $150! heehee... So I left the place happy with ALL my purchases.. haahaha..
Now, I kinda feel guilty that I bought and will be buying more Bobbi Brown products (and I've also become a member, btw) instead of MAC products. Oh no... Can I just be loyal to 2 brands??
