Llewellyn & Joyce's wedding =)

Saturday was a time of bliss coz it was my cousin's wedding!! So happy for him =)))) He's the first cousin to get married on my mom's side so ah mah was all smiles that night, seeing her first grandson getting married. haha.. My bro who was there for the tea ceremony, got a big fat red packet for helping to open the car door for the bride and bridegroom.. hahaha.. how i wish i was 5, then i'll be the one doing the honour... heehee...

Nonetheless, the dinner, which was held at the Sentosa Golf Club, was fantastic.. food's good and everyone was dressed to the nines! haha.. many folks flew back to SG for the wedding dinner so it was like a good get together..

Another thing was that it didn't exactly hit me that I have a really big family until it was phototaking time.. haha.. just take a look at all my cousins who were present! (well, actually there are more, a couple of them didn't turn up and some others were there but not in the photo =P)

Feel so blessed =)

Then, as the dinner progressed, some of us got trigger happy while waiting for the dishes to be served.. haha.. this is what I call, self entertainment.. hahaha

L: That's us, all trigger happy!

R: See, I told you Ah Mah was all smiles.. hahaha

The night was fantastic and definitely one to remember... hmm, hope mine will be equally good!! =)

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!

I've survived 1 and a half months of work!!!!!! muahahaha.... yay! so proud of myself.. heehee.. and i'm going on leave soon!! yay X2!!!!! hahahahaha... so happy =)))

But the main highlight of the week is how I found out, after 2 years, that I've misunderstood someone for so long and I'm not the cause of her unhappiness. That took a huge load off my shoulder. =)

So now with one less burden, I'm a much happier person =P

Btw, I'm thinking of planning a short trip to Bintan so if anyone knows of anywhere I should visit while i'm there, drop me a line via any means yea?

Love you, folks!!

Life as an adult

I was just sitting on the bus this evening, on my way home, thinking about life as an adult. Heavy responsibilities, I must say.

List of responsibilities/tasks:
1) settle on a decent job that pays ok
2) find a life partner and settle down (this is the hard one!)
3) start a family (this requires time, effort and LOTSA money, that's why I believe in the 1 child policy.. hahaha)
4) juggle working life with social life
5) pay the bills
6) provide for the house

and the list goes on...

But what intrigues me most is the amount of social skills and the number of facades that one is expected to have as an adult. I'll give you a scenario: One morning, you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and decide that it was going to be a dreadful day. You head to the bus stop to wait for your bus and hope that you will be able to get some quiet time to yourself (coz it's a dreadful day and you just dun wanna talk). BUT, here comes a friend of yours who is also waiting for the same bus. At this point in time, you'll have no choice but to put on this facade and appear cheery when he/she starts a conversation. Lets call this facade 1. So finally, you reach the office. When you see the boss, you put on facade 2. When you see your colleagues, you put on facade 3. When you see your clients, you put on facade 4. See, so many facades!! Interesting, don't you think? And by the way, I'm not referring to myself through this scenario. I'm just making a generalisation. =)

By the way, I'm starting to think that I sound kinda jaded. Somebody help!!!!

Penang Trip

Okay, this is a really delayed entry. Haha... Actually, I've been back from Penang since 2 weeks ago but I realised that I haven't posted photos up! The Penang trip was fun! Though it was supposed to be for work, I think all of us had lotsa fun and laughter.. heehee.. We were fed every 2 hours, training was okay, group members were fun and the skit on the last day was crazily wacky.. hahaha..

The best part of all was that after the trip, everyone kinda knew everyone! The trip bonded all of us together =) I myself made lotsa friends - fellow NTU schoolmates, the SMU folks and those from overseas universities.

Anyway, enough of me, here's for all you visual people out there =)

bobbi brown convert!

gosh, today's the last day of freedom... from tomorrow onwards, i'll be joining the rat race =( Well, on the brighter side, at least i'll be going to Penang for a 'holiday' somehow. Juz hope it's gonna be relaxing and not too strenuous - my brain can't take it after being on slack mode for so long.. But anyhow, to get my mind off such unhappy things, I'm gonna bl0g what took place last evening! heehee.. thinking about it just brings a wide grin to my face.. hahahaha!!!

My really nice and sweet cousin signed me up for this Bobbi Brown Chocoholics Workshop as a birthday present. Well, coz it was kinda a late decision, we couldn't get places for 2 on the days that we were available so we decided to split up. My session was the one yesterday. I wasn't really keen on going initially coz 1) I woke up with a darn locked jaw and 2) I'll be alone and it's gonna be weird coz not many people go for such makeup workshops alone. But I went anyway coz this workshop costs a good $150.

Yup, so I got there on time.. hee.. learnt my lesson after being late for the one that I went with Geri and Qiu (remember the Jill Lowe/Estee Lauder one??). It was held at the atrium of Centrepoint. Initially I thought it was really weird coz that's such an open space so how can a workshop possibly be held there? But I was so wrong. They kinda closed up the workshop area with nice wooden blinds so it's not that open afterall. The ambience was really good - think nice warm lightings, comfy seats, beauty mirror and brushes for each lady coming for the workshop etc. Best of all, once I got myself registered and seated, I was served with Bakerzin's chocolate passieres and a nice chocolate mint drink! How awesome is that??? hahahaha... Oh, before I forget, I would say that there are actually perks for going alone. For one, I was able to get a good seat right in front! =P

So the whole workshop was a really hands-on thing. Step by step guide on how to apply makeup. There were also makeup artists around to help with the colours that suit your skin tone. And I FINALLY found the perfect foundation tone for my skin!! Thanks to Jac, the sales and education manager, who helped me alot! =)))) Pretty useful for someone like me who's gonna start working and need to put on all these makeup. I also got selected to be the model for eye makeup (that means I got to go up the stage and offer my face as the 'white paper' for the pro to doodle on)!! hahahahaha...

The entire workshop took about 2 1/2 hours to finish. So after it was done, I decided to use the $150 voucher (which was in the goody bag - so actually the $150 paid previously was fully redeemable!) to redeem Bobbi Brown products on the spot coz according to the makeup artist who was helping me, she said that a lot of limited edition items were closed to being sold out. Then I got tempted. I was enticed by the nice palette that would come free with every purchase of $300, that would mean that I'll have to top up $150 on top of the voucher. But thankfully, my senses got the better of me. Well, I did top up to $200 eventually to get this nice bag of goodies but at least the damage was only $50 and not $150! heehee... So I left the place happy with ALL my purchases.. haahaha..

Now, I kinda feel guilty that I bought and will be buying more Bobbi Brown products (and I've also become a member, btw) instead of MAC products. Oh no... Can I just be loyal to 2 brands??

Discoveries of the Year

Today was such an eventful day! For starters, I got up at an unearthly hour - 730am (my stds are 1130 btw). That's because I wanted to follow Wei back to NTU to pay off my computer loan. Yup, so I trudged back to NTU with my eyes barely open.. argh!

Once we reached the Boon Lay MRT station, I realised that the old bus interchange had been torn down! There's a new temporary one built on the grass patch at the other side of the MRT station. So this makes Discovery No. 1.

So after boarding 179 and all, I finally ended up in the all too familiar place - school. Recalling how I had to go to the Office of Finance at the Administration Building in my freshie year to get my computer loan done and pay overdued tuition fees (coz there was a cashier there), common sense told me to go back there to make payment. Lo and behold, although I distinctly remembered that the cashier was on the 3rd floor, I was greeted by a huge wall and a card-security glass door on the 3rd floor! Well, it did say Office of Finance alright but it seemed to be more like the back office. That was just what I needed after getting 2 huge blisters on my toes while trying to rush there and get my payment done! Right, so I decided to call them up and find out where have they moved to. The Student Services Centre, I was told. Great, that's like all the way at the Admin Annexe. But that wasn't the worst, the worst part was that they didn't accept VISA - this means I can't get my payment done! AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!! So Discovery No. 2 is that the cashier for the Office of Finance has moved to the Student Services Centre.

After all the hoohah, I got really hungry.. Since I was gonna meet Wei for lunch after his class, I decided to go grab a light bite first so pau came to mind. Hence, I started walking to Canteen B to grab the all so familiar pau. My my, when I got there, the place was like a madhouse (ok, no big deal coz it's like that most of the time)! I squeezed thru the crowd at the noodles and chinese food stall so as to get to the pau stall. BUT, omg.. the pau stall disappeared!! In its place was a newly opened Western Food stall! To confirm my suspicions that the pau stall had indeed disappeared, I walked to and fro the entire canteen probably twice! I was like ?!@#@!? I want my pau!!!! Then I thought what the heck, i'll just go grab a milo then since I was bloody hungry. Hence, I pushed my way through to the drinks stall. Then while paying for my milo, I realised that the drinks stall now sells pau! And the auntie who was collecting money was the pau auntie! Hahahahahaha... so the pau stall didn't disappear after all, it just merged with the drinks stall.. hahahahaha... funny... that's my Discovery no. 3!

Gosh, in conclusion, I felt so out of place in school... quite a number of changes, I would say. Would you believe that it was only 4 months ago that I was still in school, rushing for tutorials/lunch etc? Shucks.. SOOO many changes in a short period of time... Sob, I still wanna feel like I belong there!! =(

ps: oh yar, even Coffee Club Express changed. That coffee joint is now known as "Caffe Express"

stupid. really stupid.

I think I'm a really stupid baboon. I've never felt so dumb and cheated in my entire life... Eventually, I found out that the biggest regret of my life is not giving law school a miss but something else. Oh gosh, why did I ever allow myself to be subjected to such unhappiness and humiliation?

I'm a sucker... a real sucker
